Welcome to the October issue of the 2012 BookOTel newsletter. We hope you all made the most of what little sunshine we had, now it is time to get the scarves and gloves out! We would like to start by congratulating the following The HBAA annual Awards, Agent of the Year went to Conference Care after being judged the best by BDRC. The Agent with the best use of social Media by an agency went to SilverDoor, after being judged by the following Judges: Katherine Alano, Caterer & Hotelkeeper and David Taylor, AP Marketing UK. Since our last newsletter there are no new employees within the BookOTel family, although Rahima has now moved from Reservations into Accounts. We are sad to announce that Ben has left BookOTel since the last newsletter, it brought a tear to everyones eye! We wish him the best in his future job and with his move down to Cardiff. Good Luck Ben :) In each newsletter, one member of staff will be profiled to give you the chance to learn a little bit about the voices on the end of the BookOTel phones. This edition sees me interviewing Employee of the Quarter - Bex Bowden. 1. What is your role within BookOTel? Reservations Agent 2. How long have you been in this role? Nearly three years 3. Brief career history: Office assistant within an Estate Agents, Hotel Receptionist, Hotel Reception Supervisor and then BookOTel 4. What did you aspire to be as a child? Part of the x-men 5. What would your dream job be? Tattoo Artist with my own studio 6. Describe yourself in three words: Laid-back, artistic and odd 7. What are your hobbies? Music, art, movies, friends, old school PC games and Stephen King books 8. Favourite holiday destination? Banff, Canada 9. Favourite hotel ever visited? My tent at whatever festival its landed at 10. What do you think it takes to become Employee of the Quarter? Dedication and hard work 11. What are the highlights of working at BookOTel? My colleagues 12. If you could have one super power what would it be? The ability to control time 13. What is your motto? Train Travel News
The Department for Transport says it will negotiate with Virgin Trains for the operator to continue running the West Coast line on a temporary basis, when its current franchise ends on December 9.
